To all the guys down in Dominical, Costa Rica:
Thrusters represented the most tranquil place I would go socially during my 7-month stay last year, 1998, in Costa Rica. Not a day goes by when I don't reflect upon the "Rich Coast".
Business plans were drawn, put away, and resurfaced, and now we have the opportunity to bring Thrusters Lounge to Southern California. California is a state emerged in the surfing culture, and there are a large number of people are acquainted with Mother Ocean and the spirit she nurtures in our community. As Costa Rica's popularity grows, surfers and others are going to and from Costa and other Central American localities.
It is our goal to bring not so much the look of Costa Rica, but the feeling. I want to establish a liaison between the two Thrusters locations and utilize technology to bring these distant spots together, with a central vibe of positivity and local respect, community and peacefulness, and some serious Reggae playing… Much respect to you and your old partner Dillan for creating the lounge, and allowing us to share in it up here in San Diego. Over 10 years has passed since Thrusters established itself within Pacific Beach's cultural scene. At only 800 sq. ft, Thrusters has been home to many celebrations and is honored to be one of P.B.'s favorite local spots. Thrusters has also sunk its roots deep into San Diego's Music and Service Industry networks, with some of San Diego's best DJ's and bands getting started right here at Thrusters Lounge.
Remodeled in 2004, Thrusters now boasts all the amenities of a classy lounge within a stones throw from the beautiful sands of Pacific Beach and Crystal Pier.
Open 7 days a week, until 2 a.m. daily. Check our events calendar and pick your flavor. Thrusters is also proud to have been a 7 year Certified Member of the Green Restaurant Association and recipients of the San Diego's Recycler of the Year Award 2004.
Artwork, culture, laughter, dancing, audio visual, surf snow skate skim break wake moto and mind videos, large plasma screen sporting events, toasting, hearts joining and breaking, oaths givin'….the list goes on and on and its been happening here for quite awhile now.
